As many of you in Palm Springs may have realized, Ora and I (Bexter) weren't in attendance at the last show. After last year's extremely wonderful show that had beautiful weather, we decided that we got lucky and didn't want to risk ruining that great experience. Apparently, we made a good decision...
(Video credit to Lungala) A lot of artists lost precious works of art and their booths. One even had that tree that you see in the video come down ON HIS VAN! We're so glad that no one was hurt!
Ora and I have been extremely busy working on her art book. Edits, re-edits, new drawings and photoshop have been in overdrive over the past months. As a result, this blog and progress reports have been lacking. To make up for it, here's a little sneak peak on the progress of Nectar.
There'll be another update coming up later this week since Ora's been working on it since I snapped this picture on Saturday morning.
Our next show isn't until the end of this month, so keep an eye on the blog and we'll give you all the details!

Fountain Hills Recap!
We had a show in Burbank last month that started off beautifully!
The sun was shining, the birds were singing, the clouds were threatening...
The show ended early and in the middle of packing, we got hailed on. There's nothing better than getting pelted with pellets of ice as you're trying to load heavy boxes of fine art into the van!
The rains came on Saturday but luckily didn't bring any winds with them. I (Bexter) did my best at the most important part of the job: keeping Ora caffeinated throughout the show.
I'm fairly certain that between the two of us, we depleted the majority of Sofrita's coffee bean supply.
Now here's a look at the official end page of Ora's art book, coming soon to a show near you! It'll also be available for purchase via Ora's Art around the end of January.
On Thursday we head out to Arizona for the Tempe Festival of the Arts!

Boulder City Recap!
We had a ridiculously WARM show in Boulder City, Nevada. By warm, I mean HOT. We're so excited for the relentless heat to end!
It was a gorgeous show! We had a packed booth the entire time, in spite of this:
The fan was on full blast the entire show while I (Bexter) hosed myself down in a pitiful attempt to not pass out from heat exhaustion. In all seriousness, we had a wonderful show and loved seeing so many familiar faces and meeting so many new ones!
Ora's been hard at work since we've been back. One of her newest pieces has fallen into place, simply flowing from her paintbrush like a river.
12 ounces. I like to think I had something to do with this: Being a geeky beer connoisseur I've opened Ora's eyes to the beauty of malts and hops (I'm done with patting myself on the back now).
I LOVE how this painting has turned out!
In Boulder City we got to visit the local brewery, Boulder Dam Brewing, and grabbed a sampler. This was purely for research purposes for Ora's painting. Yes, research...
Our next show will be in November in Burbank! Come down and visit in the (hopefully) beautifully cool weather!
Saturday, November 5th and Sunday November 6th

San Fernando Road between Magnolia and Olive Avenue

And We're Back!
It's been a jam-packed few months! We went to Bellevue, Fremont, Palo Alto, Mountain View and Lafayette! Finally we've got an entire weekend off to catch our breath and relax.
Lafayette was an extremely busy show.
It was also extremely hot! I couldn't believe how many people were there, packing the streets during 92 degree weather!
Ora's been making progress on the latest original: Nectar. Here's a sneak peak:
We also have a new, OFFICIAL Ora's Art Fan Page. Go to Facebook.com/OrasArt and "like" us. You'll be able to get all the info about upcoming shows, see even more updates of originals as well as detailed images, and we'll be answering any question you've got.

Breckenridge and Los Altos Recap!
Sorry the blog hasn't been updated in so long. We've been CRAZY busy with travel! Back at the beginning of July we traveled all the way to Breckenridge, Colorado for the Mountain Arts Festival. It was a long two day drive, but we made it!
The Colorado river was RAGING!
Breckenridge was absolutely beautiful.
Our booth was right on the edge of the water. Once the walls were up, we couldn't see it but we got to appreciate the sound of the rushing river. The show went well - we met a lot of new people who started their Ora's Art collections.
After we got home, we had a single day off before jumping right back into the van and heading up to Los Altos.
Ora with some of her collectors! We had a VERY busy show up in Los Altos! Those who missed us in Sunnyvale (which we ended up not setting up/attending because of the downpour) came by during this show to say hello and check out Ora's latest works.
Tomorrow we head right back up to Menlo Park for the Connoisseurs' Marketplace! If you missed us in Sunnyvale AND in Los Altos, or if you just love Ora's work that much, come on by!
Connoisseurs' Marketplace
Saturday, July 16th and Sunday, July 17th
10am to 6pm
Santa Cruz Ave and Camino Real
Downtown Menlo Park
Booth #610 and 612
And now I leave you with another one of Ora's work-in-progress:
Nectar - Original Drawing
And the beginnings of the original oil painting:
We hope to see you this weekend!

About Sunnyvale...
In case you showed up to the show in Sunnyvale, you may have noticed something... We weren't there.
We made the drive up the coast in beautiful weather, but when we awoke Saturday morning to set up (at 4am, thank you very much), it was raining. No, not just raining.
POURING.
Ora and I tried to find our booth location, but the rain had washed all the markings off of the sidewalk. We parked near where we THOUGHT the booth was, and went for breakfast to wait out the rain.
The rain didn't stop. Here's Ora standing under an awning, still holding her umbrella.
Double coverage: Yes, it was that rainy.
Basically, we waited around for the rain to stop. It didn't. We packed up and headed back down the coast.
The good news: We'll be attending the La Jolla Arts Festival in two weeks! Here's all the info:
Saturday, June 18th and Sunday, June 19th
9am to 5pm
Genesee Avenue and Regents Road
$10 admission
The other good news: We tried mead for the first time up in Sunnyvale.
Not the worst way to keep dry!
